Santa Monica, RPA's home, has a rich history of Black communities that were pushed out of their homes by systemic racism and civic policies set out to destroy neighborhoods like theirs nationwide.

For Black History Month 2023, we wanted to celebrate the lost stories of these people and places. Placing QR codes all over the city, we offered Santa Monica the chance to relive these stories in the same spots where they took place.
